Do I have to have one policy with one renewal date?

No, you do not need to have this. Economies of scale means it makes financial sense to have all properties under one policy, but it is by no means essential.

Can I split out my commercial and residential properties?

Yes you can, in some instances it will make sense to do this, but your insurance adviser will take the time to understand your portfolio and suggest the best course of action.

Can I add and remove properties throughout the year?

Yes, the policies are not restrictive and you will be able to change your insurance as you buy and sell properties.
